Cleverlearn’s Academic programs focus on building confidence in communication with the use of the
English language.
The method used in these programs enable students to improve their
holistic ability in English. It includes classes in structure practice,
conversation, reading and sentence construction. These are combined with
a wide range of video, audio and computer assisted learning tools along
with social and cultural activities.
Course Levels
Are
determined by the results from their oral and written evaluation. Both
evaluation are initially taken on the first day the student reports to
school. .

Language Activities
At
Cleverlearn, we believe that language learning is not confined to the
classrooms. Cleverlearn’s communicative approach ensures that students
will be given the opportunity to make use of what they have learned in
class. Each week, there is a variety of supervised language activities
that are held indoor and outdoor. There are also sports activities
organized by the school. Each student belongs to one team where they can
interact and play games with teachers and other employees.
General English
The
General English Program
is designed to improve students’ general language skills and
understanding of English. This will lead to increased confidence in
communicating with others in different social situations. This is
composed of six-hour lesson a day, divided to 2 hours of one-on-eight
class with an English Native Speaker, 2 hours one-on-four class with a
Filipino Teacher and another 2 hours of one-on-one with a Filipino
teacher.
General English – Junior
The
General English-Junior program is a specialized program for kids and
teenagers and is good for six hours a day. It focuses on building
vocabulary, reading comprehension, critical thinking, sentence
construction, listening comprehension, correct pronunciation and
speaking fluency. This is composed of 2 hours on-on-four class with an
English Native Speaker, 2 hours one-on-four class with a Filipino
teacher and 2 hours one-on-one class with a Filipino teacher. In this
program, meetings are given to parents and guardians regularly. This
way, there is close monitoring on the students’ progress. On weekends,
excursions are organized so students will experience an avenue of fun
while learning.
General English Semi-Intensive
The
General English Semi-Intensive was initially designed for parents and
guardians who accompany the children enrolled under General English –
Junior and those whose purpose is to learn English while having a
relaxing time in Cleverlearn. This program mainly focuses on building
vocabulary, conversation and speaking fluency and reading comprehension.
This program is composed of 1 hour one-on-one class with a Filipino
teacher and 2 hours one-on-eight with an English Native Speaker.
Intensive English
The
Intensive English program is designed for all ages, be it a working
adult or a young student. It covers the four skills of communication
namely, listening, speaking, reading, writing as well as phonetics and
vocabulary building. Each student will study with three different
teachers. This is composed of 5 hours of one-on-one classes with a
Filipino teacher.
Advanced English
There
are two courses under this program, namely, Medical English and Business
English. This is composed of 3 hours one-on-one class with a Filipino
teacher, 2 hours one-on-four class with a Filipino teacher and 2 hours
one-on-eight class with an English Native Speaker. The students have the
option to choose what course they prefer, either Medical English of
Business English.
This
course focuses on the language of medicine in both spoken and written
English. It is designed to help them master specific medical vocabulary
and idioms, and to improve their ability to communicate in English. This
course consists of two parts: the English component which involves a
review on grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary enhancement, reading,
listening comprehension and speaking practices in a medical setting. The
second component will be more on medical subjects like basic health and
care concepts.
This
course ranges from topics namely American Business, Marketing, Finance,
International Trade, Business Management, Business Writing and Human
Resource. This focuses on making presentations, negotiations, presiding
meetings, business vocabulary and writing while surveying different
topics. Facilities, instructors, education events and social affairs are
integrated into a program of the highest quality.
Exam English
This
program is designed for students who want to gain a specific English
test score for the purpose of studying in universities abroad or
applying and getting a new job. This focuses on familiarization of the
test format and learning test-taking strategies in taking the exam. This
emphasizes specifically on the TOEFL, TOEIC and IELTS exams. This
program is composed of 3 hours one-on-one class with a Filipino teacher,
2 hours one-on-four class with a Filipino teacher and 2 hours
one-on-eight class with an English Native Speaker.
This
concentrates on developing students’ speaking, reading, writing and
listening skills. All of these are in a business context in addition to
TOEIC test-taking strategies. Students can expect daily vocabulary and
homework exercises, frequent quizzes, weekly listening reviews and
regular full-length TOEIC practice tests.
IELTS Preparatory Test- This
focuses on examination techniques and study skills required to help
students obtain a substantial score for the IELTS test, these classes
will help develop students’ examination strategies.
This
is designed to help students prepare for the TOEFL examination and to
improve their English. Students practice listening and reading
comprehension, writing and speaking. Activities include computer-aided
tasks that train the students for the actual test.
Academic English
This
program is designed for students who want to pursue their studies in
English speaking universities. This is created to help them develop
pertinent skills that would help them cope with the demands of
university studies abroad. This program is composed of 3 hours
one-on-one class with Filipino teacher, 2 hours one-on-four class with a
Filipino teacher and 2 hours one-on-eight class with an English Native
Speaker. Each class is divided to Academic Speaking and Listening,
Academic Reading and Academic Writing.
English for Toddlers
This
program is designed for children whose parents or guardians are
studying in CELI. The emphasis of this program is to train these
children with the basics of English like learning the alphabet, shapes,
drawing and outlining.
